24/25 Season Artist-in-Residence: Rennie Harris

The Brownstein Residency for Artistic Innovation links notable visiting artists to the Penn and Philadelphia communities with a focus on interdisciplinary work and experiences for broad audiences. The 24/25 season Brownstein Artist-in-Residence is Rennie Harris. As part of a significant, three-year residency, this Philadelphia native and his company, Rennie Harris Puremovement, offer the world premiere of American Street Dancer, showcasing the impact of hip hop across the entire arts spectrum. In three public performances (Mar 14-15), a school-day matinee, classroom visits and more community outreach activities, our residency explores how street dance is uniquely able to address today’s pressing issues, greatly shaping art and culture in our country.
