This classical tabla superstar delivers a vibrant and engaging performance combining expert technique and witty improvisation. Hussain is a favorite accompanist for classical musicians around the world, and has recorded with the likes of Yo-Yo Ma, George Harrison and Jon McLaughlin. Joined in this performance by Jayanthi Kumaresh on veena and R. Kumaresh on Carnatic violin, Hussain is “a fearsome technician but also a whimsical inventor, devoted to exuberant play” (New York Times).
