Paul Taylor Dance Company

Extolled as “a marvel” and “the center of American modern dance” (New York Times), the iconic Paul Taylor produces pieces consistently regarded as masterpieces. His prodigious output includes 137 works over the course of six decades, with choreography that runs the gamut—lyrical, dark, ironic, silly, nostalgic and outright funny—but always a journey orchestrated by genius. Featuring four Philadelphia premieres, this engagement includes Fibers (1961) and Profiles (1979), two Taylor classics, as well as Gossamer Gallants (2011), a humorous work based on a company of insects where females rule, and American Dreamer, a brand new work set to the music of Stephen Foster.
