Jessica Lang Dance

March 20, 2015
Zellerbach Theatre

Jessica Lang integrates set design, props and projections into a pleasing visual feast. Her ballet-based yet contemporary-driven choreography is reminiscent of Twyla Tharp and Paul Taylor. The program includes The Calling, a powerful, elegant solo for a woman in a long white dress; White, a dance on film that plays with the idea of manipulating time; and i.n.k., a riveting ensemble work that incorporates video projections of Japanese ink and water colliding in the air. Students will gain a greater appreciation of how technology and multimedia impact artists working today.
