Celebrating 40 years as a landmark piece in African American literature and black feminism, Ntozake Shanges for colored girls continues to capture the essence of a narrative that speaks to themes of love, loss and sisterhood. Conveyed through the lens of seven nameless women of color, this choreopoem uses music, poetry and dance to paint a vivid arc of struggle and triumph, allowing the ensemble of women to experience a brilliant metamorphosis that pushes them to the end of their own rainbows.
