Join this intrepid Philadelphia company on the Annenberg Center stage in a not-so-typical theatrical treat. Founded by director Rebecca Wright and designer Maria Shaplin, Applied Mechanics creates its own brand of promenade style theatre, in which many scenes happen simultaneously and audience members are free to wander around—a choose-your-own-adventure play! Exploring the relationships between bodies and space and always challenging conventional theatrical ideas, Applied Mechanics’ deftly performed works are “meaty and curious—as close to a piece of installation art as theater gets” (Philadelphia Inquirer).
