Travel to the Irish coastal town of Bantry, West County Cork, and attend the Masters of Tradition annual Irish music festival without leaving your seat! Now in its ninth year, this prominent festival was developed by renowned fiddler Martin Hayes to expose the heart of Irish traditional music and allow real insight into the musical journeys of Ireland’s greatest musicians as well as the masterful music they play. Now, straight from Ireland, the Annenberg Center brings this festival to you, featuring some of Ireland’s most accomplished musicians including Martin Hayes and Cathal Hayden on fiddle, Iarla Ó Lionnáird on vocals, Dennis Cahill and Seamie O’Dowd on guitar, Máirtín O’Connor on accordion and David Power on uilleann pipes.

Pre-show talk with Martin Hayes and the musicians

Come early for a pre-show chat with the musicians and Martin Hayes, Artistic Director of Masters of Tradition. This event will take place in the Bruce Montgomery Theatre lobby and will be hosted by Scott Spencer, Ph.D., Adjunct Professor, Villanova University and Coordinator of the CUNY Center for Traditional Irish-American Music.

Pre-show performance by Champion Dancers
April 15 @ 6:30 PM

Enjoy a pre-show performance by the Champion Dancers from the DeNogla School of Irish Dance. This event will take place in the Main Lobby.

This performance is part of the
Annenberg Center’s Irish Roots Series.
