Penn Presents

About Us
Founded in 1971, the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts is a leading non-profit multi-disciplinary performance venue in Philadelphia offering a varied program of more than 170 performances each year through its professional performing arts arm Penn Presents. Its mission is to serve the University of Pennsylvania and the greater Delaware Valley region as a comprehensive performing arts center of national reputation, distinguished by a broad-based program of music, theatre, dance, arts education and outreach for adults and young people.

The Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts of the University of Pennsylvania is a major cultural destination and crossroads in the performing arts, connecting Philadelphia regional audiences and the University through exposure to innovative human expression in theatre, music, and dance.

The Center highlights the value of the performing arts by presenting world renowned and emerging artists and companies who express adventuresome perspectives on contemporary issues, timeless ideas, and diverse cultures. By offering contextualization programs, featuring Penn faculty as well as experts from the artistic and business community, the Center promotes critical thinking among its audiences, creating uniquely rewarding arts experiences.

Our 2007-2008 Season embraces these themes in every Penn Presents performance and Experience It Live! dinner, lecture, and post-performance discussion you, your friends, and family attend.

From International Theatre to World Music, Jazz, Dance, and our International Children's Festival, our programs speak to you, engage you, and provide you deep and memorable experiences for future thought.

Penn Presents' children's programs and outreach activities have always played major roles at the Annenberg Center. The Student Discovery Series features school matinees throughout the season, while a highlight of every season since 1984 has been The Philadelphia International Children's Festival. This Festival, the largest and oldest of its kind in the U.S., includes more than 60 performances that are designed to educate, enlighten and entertain children.
